Over at
event_horizons , we're currently running our Season One Challenge, wherein you can play around in any creative medium you like with season one.
As per
eilidh17 s post:
"All good things have an amazing start, and that is certainly so for our beloved Stargate SG-1. Jack's hair had color, Sam's was doing things not covered by USAF regulations, Daniel's was long and oh-so touch-worthy, and Teal'c, well... he didn't have any. There were other first season notables, such as Teal'c's love of gold-tinted powder and garish eye shadow, the size of Daniel's BDU's, Sam's need to stand at attention whenever Jack was nearby, and... Jack.
Season one was the stepping stone to ten years and two movies full of friendship, adventure and heartbreak, and is a fitting place to start our seasons challenge.
Fun is the object of the day... or in this case the month.
Take an episode from season one (or take as many as you like) and either write, art, vid, picspam, comment, whatever you like to do with that episode. Want to join in but having some problem in the inspiration department? We have a list of season one-related prompts that might just help you out. The genre and rating of the story is your choice, and all we ask is that your contribution be appropriately warned/rated.
Each of our seasonal challenges will run for one month. Season one starts today and finishes on the 31st of August, so you can post your contribution at any time during the month.
When posting your contribution, you may do so as a comment to this post or as an independent post with "Season One Challenge" at the start of the subject line. This also ensures that your post will be picked up by the SG Debrief. As always, please feel free to cross-post your entry to whatever other archive you choose to use.
And, finally, the sharing or recc'ing of older challenge-appropriate material is most welcome.
Event Horizons is all about participation and having fun, so if you'd like to join in but don't think your 100 words is good enough or those two caps you've blended so lovingly together aren't working, then you would be wrong. We love our fandom and everyone in it - from the published author to the lurker who watches from the fringes. Everyone is welcome."
