Still Draws A Crowd...
Oct. 16th, 2009 09:34 pmIt was cool enough this evening to sit down and do some sketching with the tablet. (I will have to somehow scan some of my recent graphite/pencil sketches too to compare techniques). I am pretty ok with this one. The outline probably needs a little more blending with the colour layers on top, but I'm looking at a software upgrade in the future because surprisingly it's starting to become limited like that, mind you I am behind the times with the program. Either that or get off my butt and learn photoshop already. I wanted to do a more recent photo of RDA since I haven't seen anyone draw him since he left SG (unless you guys know any artists who have?) and he's still a wonderful subject *g*.

I'm pretty happy with this one overall. I do think the hair and boonie look a little flat compared with the face and jacket, but I ran out of ideas on how to change that. Next time!

Well now that the masterlist for the jacksamfriends Jack & Sam friendathon has been posted, I guess I can say I was the artist behind 'Survive' based on the dirty, dirty hug scene from Death Knell :P. Feb. 9th, 2009 09:45 amThis is surreallis's fault for making me fall in love with Criminal Intent, Bobby and Alex all over again. We're still waiting for the new season over here, so I've been catching up on some oldies but goodies - I pulled my old VCR apart and fixed it, yay me! :D Anyway, this is from a promo shot from season 1, I believe. I have actually drawn this particular pose before in pencil for an art course I was undertaking back in '02-'03 (A+), so I'd love to be able to find that one so I could compare the two, see how much my technique has changed in that time.
( And the building of Bobby, for fun... )
