Daniel rescues a princess with a fetish for trees and stoned archaeologists (stoned.. get it... *ahem*), leading to SG-1 being capture by a Goa'uld wannabe and thrown in the mines in order to get down and dirty. Daniel gets smooshed by some rocks and brought back to life by the princess who wants to dress him up like a doll (hey, we've all been there) she then gets him addicted to the sarcophagus. Our team head home to play with their naquadah (you always appreciate it more when you mine it yourself) and Daniel goes dark side, wrestles with Jack in the closet and eventually goes back to the princess to break her heart... ain't it always the way...

My fic is off to beta! \o/ It's basically a companion to A Cabin in the Sky which I posted last year. There they remembered their time at the cabin and it interspersed with their memories of how they actually got together in RL, so this is the telling of what happened in the real world a few years later. It's post series, a time I've been too afraid to look at lest I am far too removed from their voices, so I am putting on my big person pants here. I really hope it's ok as Cabin is still getting regular attention on Ao3.

Is anyone listening/watching Michael's podcast 'A Full Circle'? I tried to watch what I think was the first episode, and I got about an hour in, but it was so dull! (the cat notwithstanding) I believe his co-host is from Gateworld? It just felt a little iffy how many times the guy mentioned he lives with his mother, and I felt some of the questions fell into ick territory also. I understand they will be doing a sort of rewatch/commentary of sorts on the actual episodes, so maybe that will be a nice little trip back in time?

I also understand at some point Michael is/will be discussing his thoughts on the Gero reboot cancellation too. I... don't hate me... I don't mind one bit it was cancelled. I hated the storyline they came up with. Firstly, it smacks of the 2009 Trek reboot with Spock, and secondly, I don't give a hoot about folks in an alternate reality setting up a gate program. So? Were they just going to head off and encounter all the same baddies and such (will they have alt!reality facial hair too?), retell the same stories (Atlantis did it), and when it gets too hard, Daniel is their deus ex machina? Nope. I am actually excited to see what Jac Schaeffer will bring to the table, and apologies for the gender politics, but Stargate has desperately needed female voices for a loooong time. Sorry but I don't want more naked RepliCarter, rape stones, and Gary-McKay-Stu self inserts thank you, and if they truly want a greater audience outside of us OG's that shit will not fly today. I think the Stargate-verse still holds so much potential for storytelling, and the gate was/is a means of bringing peoples together from all over the galaxy and beyond. With Trek wrapping up in a near future, I think we need that. 

Anywho, I am back on the fan art bandwagon, and will have some SG-1 icons up soonish. Just a few months off and I am out of practice.

The Doc spends her time in prison contemplating her apparent badass self before Jack shows up to bust her out as he still has designs on Graham. She takes him to Earth and reunites with her fam, only to discover there are some counterfeit daleks on the loose, because who are we making society secure for? After kidnapping Mr Big, he sells the Doc out, but she plays a little tardis swap swap, and sends all the daleks away. However, we are always changing and always the same, and our boys are ready to head off on their own adventures to protect Earth, and conquer all modes to two-wheeled transportation.

1. What is your favourite vegetable?
I am partial to a crunch - Corn, capsicum, broccoli, beetroot (which is a condition of a decent burger here), onions, can you tell I haven't had dinner yet?

2. What is your least favourite (or most disliked) vegetable?
Eggplant and zucchini - the moist factor?, only because I am not very good a preparing them and it takes more effort to make them palatable. 

3. How many half cup (one deciliter) servings of vegetables do you eat on a typical day?
Deci-wtf? 4-5 servings, and mostly sticking to seasonal variety.

4. What is your favourite fruit?
Oh, mangoes! *chef's kiss* 

5. What is your least favourite (or most disliked) fruit?
I'm not a big melon person, rockmelon (cantaloupe), honey dew and the like, weird taste. Watermelon however is a class of its own - I just wish it still tasted like it did when we were kids.

3x04 Legacy

The Master and The Doctor head home to Gallifrey where the former has destroyed all life and just wants to brag. There he traps her in some hoola hoops and makes her watch a bunch of old home videos of her life... er, lives because she is the blueprint for all Time Lords, and is probably responsible for the extra heart, aye? Everything is a big fat whopper of a lie, and the Doc has a whole slew of other lives she doesn't remember so she gets down for a bit, but The Doctor shows up for a timely (*g*) pep talk and she uses all her awesomeness and *handwave* to blow the Matrix and escape for a nap. Meanwhile the fam arrive after their impromptu Cyber cosplay, but she sends them all home again so she can face off against the Master. Luckily Ko Shamus - the dude, not the place - is there to do all the yucky depraved death stuff and the Doctor is able to use her clean hands to escape the carnage, only to end up in a Judoon prison... not on a moon.


12x10 The Timeless Children

The gang gate to P3X-797 because they cannot think of a better name, and immediately go dark side... because the planet doesn't rotate or some such? Anywho, everyone gets touched and they go home where they touch a few more folks, and the SGC is due for some consent training. Caveman Jack wants to be a guinea pig, so Daniel and Mr Teal'c go back to the planet but Daniel goes native as he is want to do, and Teal'c becomes a vampire. Ol' Doc Fraiser sorts everyone out because any nerd that isn't Sammikins must have allergies, and they are all back to being themselves. Sam then goes shopping to find a tank top that fits... and Jack learns to keep his comments to himself. *smacks hand away*
