Still Draws A Crowd...

It was cool enough this evening to sit down and do some sketching with the tablet. (I will have to somehow scan some of my recent graphite/pencil sketches too to compare techniques). I am pretty ok with this one. The outline probably needs a little more blending with the colour layers on top, but I'm looking at a software upgrade in the future because surprisingly it's starting to become limited like that, mind you I am behind the times with the program. Either that or get off my butt and learn photoshop already. I wanted to do a more recent photo of RDA since I haven't seen anyone draw him since he left SG (unless you guys know any artists who have?) and he's still a wonderful subject *g*.

I have to give so much credit (and smooches) to l_jade for taking the original photograph, it's one of my absolute favourite RDA pics!

Aww that's a shame. I'm glad however he's doing those cons you guys can all go to, it's a great idea, and he gets a chance to speak for himself. I will not be spoon fed tidbits from TMZ (that show started airing here recently, it's quite horrid!)

Ah .. TMZ.. *shudder* those are craps. I really hate the way they picture him as a "has been".

Yes he has gained weight due to his operations, but it's all muscles under the loose clothing (ummm.. I kinda-sorta squeezed him in GateCon.. :P) and just because he doesn't do the facelift or botox (and still drive his "old' Audi), doesn't mean he doesn't have the finance to do so. *grumbles*

Rick at Con.. you really have to see him.. he's just smart & entertaining & also polite with all his boyish charm... I can't wait to see the DVD of the Con.

It's not done yet.. well, Rick hasn't approve of all the materials yet.. that's the last I heard.. prolly now they are doing the finishing touch, he's a perfectionist after all.

I didn't no whether to lay some base colour under the hair (I put skin tones over the top and hair tones under) but I couldn't find a grey that gave me the contrast required, so I laid down a flat pale grey base and put in some highlights. I don't know if it has the oompf to compliment the darker colours in the rest of the image.
