* I loved the opening sequence, a little nod to all the secondary characters at Stargate Command. Walter, Siler, aww, and Major Davis. (how long has he been a Major now?)

* The extraction ceremony. Hahahahahaha! You have got to be kidding me, please adding this now just seems silly.  And all the characters acting like it's something they have seen a hundred times before in order to sell it was just lame. However, I did like Vala's recount of the experience through the eyes of a host. And even though she wasn't a host for as long as some others have been, that shouldn't be grounds for discounting her experiences. I do see that occurring here and there.

* Tok'ra chanting - WTF?

* Best line of the movie - "Never in the history of boredom has anyone been as bored as I am now." Oh Jack, hee!

* Sadly, once again, we have a confrontation - the supposedly last one ever, between Jack and Ba'al, and...nothing? C'mon man, Jack needs closure for Abyss (fic, anybody?)

*Jack's death. Nicely done, although I couldn't tell if it was supposed to look as if it had pierced his heart or if Ba'al got him in the shoulder, and the device had some kind of poison in it for the extraction (then again, why would it kill a human being?) And one thing that irks me any time something like this happens, we always get the reaction shot from Sam. Why not Daniel? Why doesn't Cam say something? Because I'm not sure whether to think of it as 'oh Sam's the weakling, freezing up in a bad situation, she's a liability', or 'Oh Sam, she is the compassionate female so she has to be the one to get upset about this stuff'. Please.

* Why did Cam stumble when they were cutting back and forth between the events of the extraction ceremony and 1939? This time travel stuff messes with my head. If his grandfather was killed at ANY point during the conflict with Ba'al on the ship then Cam should have disappeared right away, along with everyone else. How are the events even relative? And if Ba'al was creating a new timeline, why was the original affected at all?

* I've seen a few people mention Daniel's potty mouth, but I liked it. His "Oh shit" after Sam and Cam had to leave him behind on the ice was perfect. You could see in that scene that he was holding that in until they had left. Very Daniel.

* Major Wood, huzzah!!!

* I do wonder if Daniel was hooped up on something when he was on the sub. He is SO nonchalant about his leg it's not funny, but then he seems far more focussed when Jack comes to debrief them. And I've though about Daniel's frame of mind about loosing the leg. This guy has always seen the big picture, he's always the first one to put his hand up, offering to sacrifice himself for the greater good. He's been an ascended being, with no physical body. Would loosing a leg affect him to the degree it would your average joe? Probably not. I mean, I know Shanks did a few interviews where he said Daniel had a hard time of it, but it looks as if those scenes were cut or edited. I'd like to think of his past and his personality as justifications for his behaviour.

* Jack balking at Daniel's claim that in his timeline he is the closest thing Jack has to a best friend. Wow, I loved that line! And it does bring into sharp focus just how different our Jack is from a lot of the AUs we've seen. What makes our Jack who he is? Why is it that he is so willing to step into the great yonder, and yet this AU Jack wants nothing to do with all the craziness? Is it because of Charlie? Is AU Jack so happily tucked in his little niche of a life that he doesn't even want to comprehend anything else? I think back to what Jack said to Shep in Rising about people not wanting to go through the gate to be wack. The comparison is fascinating.

Also taking into account the way that AU Jack snapped at Daniel when he mentioned Charlie's death makes me wonder if there was an incident with the gun, similar to what happened in the original time line, but that Charlie lived?

* Liked the debriefing sequence with the separations, and the ebbing frustration of all three growing throughout. Cam talking about Kassa (hehe!) and not giving an exact year for the Stargate Program's beginnings, lol!

* Another irk for me has to be the sparkly Sam syndrome this show seems to have. Sam has to be the wonderchild. And Landry's words in this film about having no doubt that she is 'an extraordinary person in her timeline' while they were in the hanger is a perfect example of this. Why do we need to be told? We can see for ourselves. Why is she the only one being singled out here? All of the team have made extraordinary contributions in their own ways, and yet Sam always gets this extra pat on the back. We get it, she can fire a P-90 and her boobs don't get in the way....move on already.

* And how was Landry's personal life - his marriage in any way affected by the sinking of the Achilles?

* The team's year apart. Firstly, Cam's married neighbour hitting on him? LOL! You're right big boy, that is trouble. Daniel in the book store was both funny and a little sad. Deep down he is still a dork. Looking around at the people in the store as if he wants to share with them this book that 'he' has written, and it's all true...and then that picture on the back? Haha! Poor guy. And Sam, oh Sam with the 'Frooties' Fruit Loops...

* Cam visiting his old house was a nice touch, and his flashback to the photo of his grandfather on the mantle was nicely done, very subtle for it's reappearance in the last scene.

*Daniel calling...himself. Daniel dearest, you SUCK at the encouragement speech. I actually kinda cringed here. I mean, I liked the idea, but the lines were lame.

* Ba'al and his merry band of System Lords. Great to see them all again, and I like that Ba'al had manipulated Teal'c into siding with him and promising the Jaffa their freedom. I've said it before that Teal'c is still quite naive when it comes to his desire for the Jaffa to be free, and in this film he doesn't appear to have any foresight into just how that would be achieved nor does he see through Ba'al quite obvious ploy. And the Jaffa get Australia? LOL! Teal'c can come sun himself on my beach... :P

* The President calling SG-1 in to help. My god, isn't Daniel the sarcastic little bitch, LOL! This is the first time we actually see just how bitter he has become, and I am really wondering what scenes were cut out in between.

* How did Ba'al have Qetesh by his side for 50 years when Vala can't possibly be that old? I can only assume that she inhabited another body until Vala was old enough to be implanted. (Love their outfits by the way, very badass :P) I loved Qetesh double crossing him though, and aww, slicing him in half - but in that distance from the camera, so you only just notice it, lovely, haha!

* I have been wracking my brain as to who the hell Yuri could be? Anyone know?

* I have to say that my favourite part of this film was the F-15 skirmish over the Atlantic. How. Fucking. Awesome!!!

* There were shades of so many episodes in this movie it's not funny - TBFTGOG to 1969, 2010 to Lost City, I do like that because this was an AU timeline they could take those stories and tweak them a little.

* Ba'al's time machine - very sci fi, hehe. Of course EVERYONE had to die (which is the pity with time travel, because we get our character development, and then none of it happens and we're back where we started). Loved Teal'c blowing himself and Qetesh up.

* Can't help but feel bad for Cam having to wait 10 years to pick Ba'al off and being all alone in the past. Shades of Futurama's Bender's Big Score (check out Cam's and Fry's beards :p)

* Back to the extraction ceremony and Cam thinks it's not as flash as everyone made out. *headdesk*

* Jack shouting everyone lunch, hee!!!

* Moon base WTF? - A lead in to the next movie? :P

* Vala love - her offering to help the newly freed host, a lovely gesture, and I love the direction Vala has gone. I wonder if Daniel was thinking about what they could have done for Sha're...

All in all, I give the film an A-. Better than Ark of Truth, but yeah, plotholes, and there could have been a bit more time spent on characterisation.
I did have a quick look see at the special features. I haven't listened to the audio commentary yet, but the featurettes were awesome - In particular the Arctic one, and the layman's guide to time travel. I love that kind of shit, and once again, it's always great to see RDA acting like a lovable clown...
