I’m in the middle of writing a fic that may be close to what is being portrayed here. I am a few thousand words in, but it is slow going, and it’s been 8 years since my last SGfic.

Ohh I see! Well, good luck with it! It can be really hard going back to writing -- unless it's just the fandom that you've stopped writing for? But still! Hearing that makes me happy. There are just some ships you can't really move on.

Thank you! I didn't intentionally stop, life just got in the way and the fandom is getting older and smaller, so less oomph to put something out there, especially as writing is most definitely not my forte.
