Has anyone read this 'The Price You Pay' SG-1 novel by Ashley McConnell? My god, it's bad. I've only read the first 10 pages, and already I've found several spelling mistakes, one being the name of a main character! I might be able to forgive the slightly OOC-ness seeing as it's set in season 1, but Sam WAS NOT in her 20's in season 1! *rolls eyes* This is the kind of stuff I'd expect from beginner fan fic, not a published novel...Oh dear...

And I must say I'm glad that I haven't read one of those SG-1-novels... Just yesterday I was looking for them at Amazon and was shocked by the reviews... They must be gruesome! I don't get how such novels could be published... It's a shame that some of the really good ff's never will be published. Some of them really deserve it! Especially when you consider what novels were published *shudders*

I bought four of them last fall, and they weren't bad, actually. Okay, so one of them went a liittle overboard with the whole googly-eyed Sam/Jack-thing, but then I'm no fan of Sam/Jack, so...

Overall, though, I gave them some pretty good reviews. Never got around to doing the last one, and I've lent them to a friend right now, but even that wasn't bad bad.

Some of the books can get a bit gruesome, but I don't really mind that, as it adds realism. I've really enjoyed the Fandemonium ones though.

I've read Trial by Fire (loved it) and A Matter of Honor (Loved it too), but I can't find The Cost of Honor anywhere which poops me as it's a really good Jack story. And City of the Gods was excellent (despite the shippy subtext and Jack seeing Sam naked *rolls eyes*), purely because I'm a fan of Sonny Whitelaw.

Wow. These are... gorgeous. Fallen Angel, Scuba Selmak (wow, those were some ugly uniforms, weren't they?), Jungle Jack and the two starry Sam ones are my favorites.
